Police in Kisumu are investigating an incident where a man is suspected to have been abducted after winning Sh500, 000.
Andrew Maina was reported missing since on Sunday, April 15, and since then his whereabouts are still unknown.
According to his family which resides in Migosi estate, they have not been able to get any information on the whereabouts of Maina even after inquiring from friends, colleagues, and relatives.
Speaking to a Hivisasa writer, Maina's wife, Angela noted that his husband went missing on Sunday, just three days after winning half a million from betting.
“He told me that he was going to meet his friend in Manyatta on Sunday at 2:00 pm. He never returned home since that day. His phone is still switched off,” she said.
She suspects that her husband could have been kidnapped by people who knew that he had won the money.
“It's almost 3 days since he left. I just hope that they take the money and leave him unharmed,” added Angela.
She further divulged that Kondele OCS Ben Barasa assured her that his team was tracing the names of the people Maina talked to before his disappearance.
“Finding the people he communicated with last on phone will help this investigation,” Ben Barasa told Angela on the phone while following up on the case.
