A man was on Sunday hacked to death as he wrestled three men who wanted to sodomise him in Kabete area.
Police who arrived at the scene to pick the unidentified man's body told journalists that the man was walking home when he was grabbed by his attackers leading to his death.
There were injuries in his anal area, implying the men had wanted to perform an unnatural act on him.
A resident of the area Michael Gitau said the deceased who police did not immediately identify was new in the area as he migrated to the nighbourhood one month ago.
Gitau said there is a possibility the attackers had been tracking the man since they did not take anything away from him after killing him.
Police from the Kabete Police station arrived at the scene long after the killers had escaped on foot.
The incident happened three days after another man was killed in the area as he walked home from work at night.
Kabete, according to the latest crime statistics from the Kenya Police, is among areas with the highest incidents of killings.
The killings happened two months after police assured residents of Nairobi and neighbouring Kiambu that efforts had been stepped up to ensure security prevails at all times.
They also happened after city residents cried out over the return of criminal gangs terrorising people especially at Nairobi's Central Business District.
