A man from Nyasike, Kisii County hacked his son to death on Wednesday morning.
It is alleged that the man was quarreling with his wife when his son tried to stop them from quarreling.
"The man who is an alcoholic was demanding some money from the wife and even became physical, that is when the son intervened and tried to stop them before his father hacked him to death," said Mr James Orioki,a neighbor.
According to him, that is when the woman screamed attracting neighbors who went and found the son lying in a pool of blood.
"Neighbors rushed the son to Kisii Teaching and Referral hospital but he was pronounced death on arrival because he sustained serious head injuries," added Orioki.
Area Nyumba Kumi official Chris Monda confirmed the incident and assured that the matter was reported to police officers.
Monda warned men against harassing women saying the law will not spare violent men who pretends to be drunkards in villages.
The boy's body was taken to Kisii Teaching and Referral Hospital mortuary.
