A man has been sentenced to a life imprisonment after being found guilty of violent robbery.
The court ruled that Benson Ngugi Kinyanjui was guilty for violently robbing George Irungu Maina of his mobile phone way back on November 25, 2014.
The act, according to court, happened at Kirwa village in Kikuyu, Kiambu County.
The court heard that Kinyanjui, in company of others, was armed with a panga and a penknife while executing the crime.
They forcefully made away with Irungu's personal documents, a mobile phone and money of an unknown amount.
In another court, Kinyanjui was also charged of violently robbing Njenga Ndungu, another complainant, of his ID card, wallet and Sh3,300 in cash.
In the ruling, the Magistrate said the prosecution had demonstrated beyond doubt that the accused committed these offenses and convicted the accused to life imprisonment.
Ngugi has 14 days to appeal.
