A 50 year old man has taken his life by hanging himself on a tree in Mekilinhi village in Yatta sub-county of Machakos county.

The 2pm incidence was confirmed by Yatta police boss Edward Kipsang who observed that the reason as to why the man took his life is still a mystery .

“The police were notified of the incidence by Peter Kiilu a village elder where they proceeded and took the body," Said Changach on Wednesday.

“The deceased left no suicide note so we're yet to establish his reasons for taking away his life," he added.

He said that the body of the unidentified man was found dangling from a tree by residents who notified the police.

Changach urged residents to desist from taking away their lives when situations 'seem to get hard' but instead seek counseling.

“When one takes his/her life the family is left in grief, that's why pastors and counsellors are there to guide you," he said.

The body of the man was taken to Kitui Level Four Hospital Mortuary.
