A middle aged man is held in cells after he locked up a class seven girl in his house for three weeks.
The incident occurred at Kiagamba Village, Kisii County leaving the residents shocked. The girl who was identified as Dorothy Ong’ou'
Reports indicate she had gone missing after failing to return home from a nearby market where she had been sent.
Despite the struggles of the family member to look for her everywhere and passing information around in the quest of their child, the man held the girl in his house incommunicado.
He never allowed her to even get out and visit the loo. He asked her to operate from the house, giving her a basin to relieve herself when she felt like.
Dorothy said that the man took her to the house unwillingly. He dragged her to his house as it was raining and had to consent as his power overwhelmed her.
She also said that he had been using her sexually amid the tender age.
“I found him as I was hurriedly rushing home from the market. It was almost raining when he stopped by me and requested to give me a lift.
"As he was heading towards the road that headed home, I agreed only to turn the motorbike and flee to a different direction.” Dorothy said.
The man took her to the neighboring village that is some one Kilometer away. By good luck, some people passed by to ask the man if he was willing to buy some home stuffs. As they knocked, the girl shouted from the house to alert that that something was wrong.
The man who is a bodaboda operator in Kisii town, was not around as he had gone out after some of his clients called him.
The area chief Ruchard Monari confirmed the incident and promised the residents that a stern action will be taken to serve as an example to the rest.
“This is unprecedented action that happened. We want to eradicate such habits in the community. A stern action will be taken to serve as an example to those with same habits.” Tom said.
