Cases of love turning sour and where men are being battered by their spouses/girlfriends and children being defiled in Nakuru County are on the rise.
Three days after a two 'mpango wa kando' lovebirds were cornered at a banana field eating the forbidden fruit, where Mzee Wanyama area residents forced them to do it openly, a 31-year-old man is now recuperating at Nairobi Women’s Hospital, Nakuru branch, after his private parts were chopped off by his girlfriend in Free Area estate on Tuesday evening.
According to his mother who sort anonymity, they learnt of the attack through his sister, and are yet to establish the motive of the attacked.
“I don’t know where he has been cut because I have not seen him since he was admitted to hospital, but I have been told he has lost his genitals,” said the mother.
Speaking to journalists on Tuesday, the hospital’s administrator Angela Gwaro said; “The man is out of danger” ,although he is in great pain.
According to Gwaro; The patient was brought in yesterday (Monday); he was bleeding profusely and in great pain. We are being told that his girlfriend is responsible for chopping off the private parts,” she said.
“Men are being battered by their girlfriends in Nakuru, and the cases are on the rise, perhaps we need to step up the fight and protect the boy child as well,” she added.
