A Nakuru court released a man on Sh 50,000 bond pending hearing of his case after he failed to restrain his dog from biting and injuring a minor aged 12 at Teachers’ estate on December 8. Tomas Njoroge aged 45, who breeds dogs that he sell, while patrolling with two of his German Shepherd dogs on a road in the estate failed to exercise maximum care to restrain one of the dogs from attacking and harming Master John Mwaura, who is a school boy. The prosecution bench told Chief Resident Magistrate Patrick Mwaniki that the accused further failed to take necessary steps after the incident but vanished from the scene of the incident. Njoroge refused to take responsibility of the incident when contacted by the boy’s parents and instead accused the boy for having crossed the road intentionally due to curiosity before the dog bit him. The accused was released on bond awaiting the hearing of the case on January 15.
