A man was Friday arraigned in an Eldoret court for allegedly breaking into a neighbour's shop in Cheplaskei, Uasin Gishu County.
According to Easter Chepchumba, the owner of the shop, her shop was robbed on August 24, 2015.
She received a call from a neighbor telling her the shop was open and when she got there, the backdoor had been broken and goods worth Sh80,000 had been stolen.
On September 5, 2015, Dickson Kiptoo was allegedly found hiding inside the same shop at around 8pm.
Later the next day, Kiptoo disappeared to the nearby village elder where he was found by the village elder after two weeks and arrested.
Appearing before chief magistrate Charles Obulutsa, Kiptoo denied the charges claiming he had no clue of what transpired on the night of August 24, 2015.
Magistrate Obulutsa adjourned the case after Chepchumba pleaded with the court to allow Nancy, her shopkeeper, to come and give her testimony.
