A middle-aged farm worker was on Tuesday remanded by a court in Nakuru, after he was charged for stealing 50 litres of milk from his employer.
The court, under the precision of Chief Resident Magistrate James Mwaniki heard that Philip Kangiri, 34 who worked at Ngwataniro Farm owned by one Julius Mwaura in Bahati area within Nakuru County, stole 5o litres of milk on the morning of January 25, which he was found selling at a through away price to his neigbours and food kiosk operators at Maili Kumi business centre later in the day.
The prosecution desk told the court that the accused had been committing the offense on several occasions since he was employed at the farm early last year.
While the complainant had been undergoing loses, he started carrying out investigations and on that material day, he nabbed the accused selling the farm product to a food kiosk operator, who confessed that the accused had been supplying him with milk on a daily basis at a cheap price.
The accused was locked up by police at Bahati police station, after being handed there by the complainant and members of the public and started investigating the accusations.
The court remanded the accused after he failed to raise a Sh15,000 cash bail, or a cash bond of Sh30,000.
The case will be heard on February 26.
