A man was on Monday arraigned before a Shanzu Court to answer to charges of attempting to kill his three children in a bid to acquire wealth.Katana Futa was accused of allegedly attempting to kill his three children on September 10, 2017 in Bombolulu area, Mombasa County.The court heard that the accused person had been told by a witchdoctor that killing his children would make him rich.Futa is alleged to have attempted to kill the three children aged 8, 9 and 10 years by throwing them into a septic tank.He was charged with endangering the lives of the children.He, however, denied the charges before Mombasa Principle Magistrate Diana Mochache and filed an application to be released on bail pending the hearing and determination of the case.Magistrate Mochache, however, remanded that accused at Shimo la Tewa Prison saying the court will hear the bail application during the mention of the case after the court determines how the children are faring.The case will be mentioned on October 25.
