A 25 yr old man was arraigned in Kiambu court on Monday for allegedly killing his father in Kirigiti, Kiambu Sub County. The prosecution told the court that on the 16th of May 2015, the accused person Martin Wainaina killed his father by starbing him with a knife on the right side of his chest.The deceased who was the accused father is said to have refused to give part of his property to the accused as inheritance. The deceased has given two of sons part of his property and is said to have refused to give the accused because of what he termed as irresponsibility. However on the 16th of May the accused went to visit them in their home in Riabai where they to into an argument over inheritance. The mother of the accused, Alice Muthoni who was unable to intervene called her elder son who is a business man in Kiambu town. The elder brother to the accused then agreed to come home in a bid to stop the fight between his brother and his father.
However when the mother walked back to the house, the accused had rushed picked the kitchen knife and stabbed his father on the left side of his chest. The mother raised alarm and called neighbours for help but the accused had already used the back door to escape. The father of the accused died on his way to Kiambu District Hospital and his body is reserved at the Kiambu Mortuary. The elder brother together with members of the public managed to catch the accused and took him to Kiambu Police station where investigations where launched in regard to the matter.
Wainaina pleaded not guilty and the Principal Magistrate adjourned the case for a hearing on the 3rd June 2015
