A middle aged man was on Friday arraigned at a Kisii court and charged for allegedly raping a girl aged 12 years.

According to the prosecutor, the accused Polycarp Manange commuted the offence at Bonyantare village in Kisii County.

The accused was arrested on February 4, 2018 by police officers after the girl revealed to her parents what the suspect did to her.

The suspect denied the rape charges before Principal Magistrate Nathan Shiundu.

Manange pleaded with the court to release him on bond.

The Magistrate released the suspect on a Sh100,000 bond.

The hearing of the case was set for Friday next week.
