A man was yesterday charged in Nakuru Court for showing pornographic materials and movies to the minors.
The man was charged for having exhibited a very obscene movie to a minor on 6th April 2013 at Kabatini Trading Centre.
Kabatini Trading Centre chief John Thuo Mwangi told the court that the man was arrested after two members of Community Policing reported to him that a local video hall was showing pornographic movies to minors.
"I have received complaints from two members of the Community Policing initiative that a certain video hall was airing explicit pornographic video movies to the minors. That was when we decided to raid the video hall and true to reports, we caught the owner airing the pornographic movies to an audience that included minors,” Thuo said.
In his defense, the man told the court that he was not aware that the two children who were arrested were minors.
"I did not know that they were minors and I thought that they were old enough to watch the movies,” the man told the court.
Thuo told the court that five minors managed to escape and that they were only able to catch two children.
The case will be ruled on Tuesday.
