A man from Gichungo village is being held by police after he allegedly attacked his wife on Sunday who later succumbed to injuries.
The woman, aged 28, died on Sunday at Nakuru sub-county hospital where she was receiving treatment.
Wilson Kosgei, area OCPD said the deceased was hit on the head with a piece of wood by her husband.
“Police rescued the man from angry mob that wanted to kill him. We recovered the murder weapon which will be used as exhibit in court,” said the OCPD.
Kosgei said police are investigating the matter and the suspect will be arraigned in court.
He advised couples to involve local religious leaders and administrators in solving family disagreements instead of taking the law into their hands.
