Daniel Okari narrowly escaped death after angry mob threatened to lynch him after he was found with his neighbour’s cow moments before police arrived.

The accused was found guilty of unlawfully being in possession of Joseph Ongoro’s cow by Kisii Law Court. The complainant said before the court that on the night of February 7 and 8 2015 at Riana Location in Kisii County, Okari stole a black cow with white spots on the fore head worth Sh35,000 from his homestead.

During his judgment, Senior Magistrate J.M. Njoroge remanded the accused for mutilating Section 278 of the Penal Code.

The area Assistant Chief, warned the locals who have turned Bogita sub-location to be a no go zone to immigrants said that they will face full force of the law.

“We want to embark on a serious night patrols which will involve Police and the Community Policing members to flash out criminals in the area,” said the chief.
