A man was arrested on Saturday for allegedly attacking and injuring his wife in Erera village, igonga division in Bomariba ward.
The suspect Mr Ambrose Momanyi was arrested by Igonga administration police.
Area police boss Nicholas Omondi Olago confirmed the incident and said the man's wife identified as Lilian sustained injuries during the attack.
"The man arrived home drunk on Friday night and demanded to be served food. He attacked his wife after she delayed serving food," said Omondi.
The police boss said the woman was rescued by neighbors who reported the matter to police prompting leading to the arrest.
Omondi said cases of assault in the area have been on the rise in the recent past.
He called on couples to solve differences using the required channels and not attacking one another.
