A 25-year-old man was on Friday arraigned in Thika Law Court with charges of robbing and stabbing one Musyoki Masila in Thika’s Kiandutu Slums.

The prosecution desk told Chief Magistrate S.H. Mbungi that in March 17 the accused John Ndung'u Waweru together with others who were not before the Court robbed Musila Sh210 cash and an Alcatel phone worth Sh1,200 before stabbing him.

The Court heard that the incident that occurred at around 9pm in Kiandutu was well planned by the accused and his accomplices.

Prosecution desk also told the Court that this man had gone underground only to be apprehended in March 18 at around 5pm by Thika Police officers.

The accused pleaded not guilty to the charges. He further pleaded with the Court to release him on a cash bail which the Magistrate declined.

The Magistrate however minding the seriousness of the offense ruled that the accused be remanded for 56 days as Police carry out investigations.

He ordered the case to resume in July 16 2015.
