A middle aged man accused of defiling a 12 year old minor has been arrested by police officers at Sameta, Kisii County.
Confirming the incident, area Chief Henry Mirera said that the suspect, Joshua Nyambane, 25, is being held at Kiogoro police station as investigations go on.
"Its alleged that the man committed the heinous act on the girl as she was heading to school. He will be arraigned to court immediately investigations are over," said Ms Mirera.
According to him, the chief revealed the ordeal to her teachers who informed the police immediately.
“One of the teachers noticed the girl walking with a lot difficulties, he raised alarm prompting female teachers to probe her. It is then that they informed the police," Mirera said.
