A Kibera resident has been detained at the Kilimani Police Station after it was alleged that he murdered his wife.
The order of his detention was given by Senior Magistrate Faith Mutuku who said that the suspect should be held for five days and later produced in court for further directions.
The police sought an affidavit where they asked for 10 days to complete investigations on the death of the victim, Rose Wekesa.
"Wekesa's father went to the police station and made a complaint that his daughter was murdered," read part of the affidavit.
The suspect, who was the deceased’s husband, Storum Miheso was arrested on Sunday after the complaint was filed.
Police said that before her death, Wekesa had a fallout with her husband. This and the fact that investigations are yet to be completed have led to the release of Miheso being difficult.
A post-mortem is set to be conducted, thereafter, police said they will charge Miheso with murder.
