A man is nursing wounds at the AIC Kijabe Hospital after he fell from a lorry that was carrying people who were celebrating President Uhuru Kenyatta’s re-election on Saturday, the Star reports.

The young man reportedly tried to alight from the speeding lorry but fell on the Nairobi-Nakuru highway in Ngarariga. The lorry was headed towards Limuru town. Witnesses say the lorry did not stop. Passersby rushed the victim to hospital.

“We saw a middle-aged man crying. He couldn’t speak. Some, who witnessed what had happened, said he fell from a lorry, which had many people in it. We didn’t have a choice but to save his life by rushing him to hospital,” resident Phillip Macharia said as quoted by the publication.

Meanwhile, another two men were injured when two motorcycles collided head-on at Nyambare on the Nairobi-Nakuru highway.

It was reported that the riders did not have passengers and were not speeding.

They suffered minor injuries and were treated at a local private clinic.
