A middle-aged man in Mwonang’e village, Metembe Kenyenya Kisii County sustained serious leg injuries after his wife attacked him when he asked her why she is unfaithful in marriage.
Residents said the woman attacked her husband after the man demanded an explanation from the woman why she had an affair with men yet they have been happily married for over 7 years.
“The woman attacked and broke the man’s leg after she was asked why he is in love with another man outside their happy marriage. The man was drunk when he was attacked,” said Simon Oroo, a Nyumba Kumi official.
Oroo added that the woman was sent to her home to bring elders to solve the matter before she will be allowed to stay with the man.
“As by the customs and culture of the Gusii community, it is a taboo for a woman to beat a man. The woman admitted to attacking the man and she has been instructed to bring her people to solve the matter before she can continue living with the man,” added Oroo.
He said the man was taken to the hospital and plastered on his broken leg.
