A burial ceremony was interrupted in Chulaimbo on Friday evening after a man demanded to be refunded the cash which the deceased owed him.
The creditor identified as Martin Aboli interrupted the laying of the body into the grave until the family Anthony Sinyolo could reassure they were going to repay the debt.
According to the creditor, the deceased borrowed goods worth 10,000 a month ago and was supposed to pay after making sales.
Martin had earlier tried to follow up with the family but the wife of the deceased was never interested in the talk saying she didn’t know about their deal.
“I told his wife about the dept earlier but she never wanted to hear about it. I want to use the money to take my kid to school,” saidMartin.
The man was then booed by the crowd that had attended the sendoff but never stopped.
Nevan Sinyolo, the brother of the deceased, stepped in to save the family from the shame and reassured the debtor that he was going to settle the debt.
It was then that Martin calmed down and allowed the pastor to proceed with the burial ceremony.
