A Nakuru court jailed Joseph Waweru 21 years in jail for stealing two cows and a donkey on three counts committed in Njoro, Nakuru.

Appearing before Chief Magistrate, David Kimei, Waweru pleaded guilty to the charges.

It was reported that on February 6 2016, Waweru stole a donkey belonging to Philip Kipkemoi Ng'eno worth Sh6,000. The accused later stole a milking cow belonging to Jonathan Rasoi on February 24 worth Sh45,000 and another cow worth Sh35, 000 frrom Florence Chelangat all from Njoro.

The accused pleaded guilty and asked for forgiveness from the complainants and the court.

"I have never stolen any other time before and I ask for forgiveness from the victims and the court," said Waweru.

The magistrate charged him seven years imprisonment for every stolen livestock.

"This court has found you guilty and has imprisoned you for seven years for every stolen cattle since there is no proof of reconciliation between you and the complainants," said Kimei. He was however allowed to appeal within two weeks.
