Suneka, Rioma, Kisii County a middle aged man was caught with 20 liters of karanga an illicit brew which he was selling without a lisence.

Alloys Nyangwara was arrested on 31/04/2015 and taken to Gesonso police station after which he was charged before Kisii Law Courts. He pleaded guilty to the charge.

 In his judgment, senior resident magistrate, J.M Njoroge remanded the accused.

Mr. Nyangwara was charged for dealing with alcoholic drinks without license contrary to the laws of Kenya.

Addressing the press, Rioma Area chief Benard Murika said that he will not condone any attempt by the locals’ brewers in peddling unlicensed liquor in the area.

“We are going to raid each and every drinking joint inorder to flash out the culprits who contravenes the law as stipulated in the constitution, we will not keep quiet when our young generation’s lives are being ruined,” He said.

Alcoholic brew has been highlighted as one of the major challenges facing many youths within Kisii County.

Kisii County government has been on the fore front to fight this menace in collaboration with NACAADA this after Kisii county governor, James Ongwae instructed the anti-drug body to sensitize locals on effects of drug and substance abuse.
