Police have arrested a man for attempting suicide in Mombasa.

23-year-old Kyalo Mwanzui jumped from the ferry at Likoni channel into the Indian Ocean, but was rescued by the Kenya Ferry Services rescue team, Thursday evening.

Likoni OCPD Wily Simba said the man was depressed by family issues, hence the suicide attempt.

He is expected to be charged in court today (Friday).

"We have interrogated the man and he claims life is so difficult for him emanating from family woes," said the OCPD, as quoted by the Star.
