A middle-aged man was on Wednesday night ruthlessly killed by irate residents after he was allegedly caught defiling a 10-year-old girl at Nyacaba village in Juja sub-county.
It is alleged that the 30-year-old suspect kidnapped the class three pupil at around 7:00 pm and took her to a nearby bush where he performed the heinous act.
Speaking to this writer, Benson Muchangi, a relative to the minor, said the father of the girl rushed to the bush after he heard cries.
“My brother rushed to the scene together with other men and found the deceased defiling his daughter and hewed the culprit with a panga to death,” Muchangi said.
The father of the minor is held at Chuka Police Station as investigations are being carried out over the incident.
The body of the deceased was taken to Thika General Kago morgue awaiting postmortem.
