A dark cloud of grief has engulfed one family in Mucerere, Gatei in Gatundu North after they lost two brothers in a family dispute.
One, a 37-year old is said to have hit his 35-year old brother on the forehead with a blunt object before hanging himself in a nearby avocado tree.
The two incidences are said to have taken place early Morning morning.
Confirming the incident the area Assistant Chief Peter Ndichu Muya said that the two brothers have been embroiled in a chain of family disputes.
"This is a very unfortunate event that we have to loose two brothers when they are at their prime ages,” said Chief Muya.
Peter Mariga, a villager and an elder in the area urged residents to shun from such family fights that may lead to death.
"I would request residents here to involve Authorities whenever there is a dispute so that we can resolve such matters amicably,” added Chief Muya.
The bodies of the two brothers were taken by Police to Gatundu District Hospital Mortuary for post-mortem and to await burial.
