A middle aged man is currently being held at Nyamira police station after killing his step brother over land.
Edwin Abuga met his death after his brother-in-law who was identified as Davis Barongo stabbed him with a kitchen knife on Friday after they disagreed over a piece of land they've been arguing over for the last three years.
According to the police report Abuga who is also neighbours with Davis had conveyed a meeting that was geared to be solve the issue only for them to disagree leading to a commotion then hell broke loose leading to the stabbing of Edwin Abuga several times.
Confirming the incident Manga OCPD James Musyimi said the two have been close bitter rivals and they have been arguing over a piece of land that their late dad left for the family in Nyamira town and both have failed to agree on who to inherit it.
"We've already launched investigations to ensure that we arraign the man who killed his brother in law in court on Tuesday as my officers are on the ground to collect evidence and count of events that led to the incident" said Musyimi
Musyimi said that the body of Edwin Abuga is currently at Nyamira referral hospital while Davis Barongo is currently being held at Nyamira Police station.
He pleaded with the locals to ensure that they seek justice through courts or elders before taking law into their hands.
