Police have launched a manhunt for an elderly man who killed his daughter for selling his chicken.

Jackson Kirui from Simotwet village, Bomet shocked the village after he tied his  20-year-old daughter and gave her a thorough beating with claims that the girl sold his chicken worth Sh500 without permission.

Area chief John Cheruiyot said the man, 50, could not listen to pleas from neighbours who asked him to spare her.

Cheruiyot said when neighbors rescued the girl, she had received a serious beating and was bleeding profusely.

She was rushed to Longisa County Referral Hospital but was confirmed dead upon arrival.

The girl’s body was moved to Longisa County Referral mortuary.
