Andrew Muganda is being held in police custody for stabbing his younger brother Wycliffe Shitanda to death.

According to witnesses, Andrew Muganda, 26, stabbed his brother Shitanda to death after finding him wearing his pair of trousers and a cap.

It is reported that Wycliffe, 23, answered his older brother rudely when he was asked to explain why he wore his clothes without asking for permission.

Their mother, Violet Lagu, says it is at this point that a fight broke out between the two leading to Shitanda’s death.

“Shitanda took a pair of trousers and a cap belonging to the brother and left home running towards the main road. When his brother found him, he stabbed him for taking his clothes without permission,” said Lagu

Other reports suggest that the two brothers were drunk during the incident.

Area Chief Alfred Muhatia asked the residents to embrace peace and calm urging them to desist from violent acts. He also asked families to seek counseling or report issues to the police saying this is the fourth murder incident of such nature being reported in the area.

The suspect is being held in police custody and will be arraigned in court to answer to charges according to a statement by Western Regional Commander Moses Ombati.

Lagu is now appealing for assistance in the burial arrangements of the deceased.
