A 30-year-old man from Uamani area in Matungulu sub-county, Machakos county has stabbed his two children to death and commited suicide by hanging himself.
The incident that was confirmed by area assistant chief James Ngewa said that the man has been having on and off disagreements with his wife that led to their separation.
The man is said to have arrived home on Saturday from Nairobi where he seemed stressed and restless. A family member noted that the man called him before taking his life saying that he was stressed and had killed his two kids and was going to hang himself.
"He called me around 11am and told me that he had killed his two kids and was about to take his life since his wife had stressed a lot," Agnes Muinde an aunt to the deceased narrated.
"Since I was in Nairobi I called another family member to confirm what was wrong but by the time they got to the scene he had already hanged himself," she added.
The body of the man and his two kids aged six and three were taken to Kangundo level four hospital mortuary.
