A 29-year-old man in Matunwa village Kiogoro Division in Kisii county on Wednesday night killed his wife after a domestic quarrel.

According to a neighbor Ruth Moraa, the suspect Fred Okiringiti killed his wife Yunis Michieka aged 25 after a family disagreement.

“The couple have always been quarreling. On Wednesday evening I heard them quarreling until at around 2 am, their child aged 3 started crying when I went to see what was going on I found their house closed. I called the deceased but she didn't respond,” Moraa said.

Moraa said she screamed and alerted neighbors who arrived and broke into the house only to find a dead body.

Kisii OCPD Francis Nguli confirmed the incident, he said the body of the deceased had injuries on the back of the head and they suspect the man hit her with a blunt object.

Nguli said the suspect fled after the incident but police have launched a search.

The deceased body was taken to Christa Mariane Hospital morgue awaiting postmortem.
