Kisii police commander Hassan Abdi. [Photo/File]A man committed suicide on Wednesday afternoon in Nyangusu, Kisii County after his lover ditched him.
Neighbors said that they were woken up by screams and on reaching his home they found his body hanging lifeless from the rooftop of the house. "I heard screams from his house and when I reached there I was shocked to see his body hanging on a rope," said Risper Kemunto a neighbor. It is said that the man killed himself after his girlfriend sent him a gift which when he opened he found a photo of his girlfriend with another man."This is my husband give me a break and we are done," was the message in the gift. Kisii police commander Hassan Abdi confirmed the incident."It is quite unfortunate that we have lost a man who was so friendly and loving," he said.
Mr Abdi also raised concern over the increased cases of lovers committing suicides.
