Residents of Wote in Makueni county on Sunday were left in rude shock after a man killed his wife, a child and burnt their house dying too in what was suspected to be a domestic wrangle.

According to the Nation, the man killed the wife and the child and burnt the house.

Neighbors told the Nation that the wife pleaded with the man not to stab her before the house went up in flames.

Benjamin Osongo Makueni OCPD confirmed the incident and said that police have launched investigations to determine the cause of the deaths.

"Preliminary reports show that a man, a woman and child have died in the house," Mr Osongo told the Nation.

The bodies of the deceased were taken to Makueni Referral Hospital mortuary.
