A man in Kibera has killed his wife in a case believed to be domestic violence.
It is said that the two had had disagreements before the fateful ordeal on Thursday when the husband used his panga to cut the wife dead.
According to a witness and neighbour identified only as Loreen, the woman had earlier in the day complained that the husband wanted to kill her.
However, her friends dismissed it as general talk.
Loreen would again visit the two in their house that evening and it was after she left that the husband began demanding that they go to sleep.
The woman was heard saying she would not go to sleep together with the man.
Witnesses say that it was then that the man started issuing threats saying he would kill her at the count of ten.
Neighbours say that they then heard noise from the house and when they found the husband battering the wife behind their closed door, they broke the door open only to be chased away by the husband who wielded a panga.
To their relief, the man vanished in the chase and it was here that they managed to enter the house and find the woman seriously cut by the panga.
Efforts to take her to hospital were futile as she died before arrival.
