A man in Makueni has hacked to death his wife following a domestic row.
The 31-year-old is currently being held at the Kalawa police station waiting to be arraigned.
The suspect is said to have attacked the wife who lived in a rented house at Kwa Kiliu centre of Mbooni sub-county Friday night.
Confirming the incident, Mbooni East OCPD Peter Njeru said the suspect was arrested after he went to their station to report an "assault case".
"When police visited the scene after an alert by neighbours, they found the body lying in a pool of blood with deep cuts on her head and back of the neck," Njeru said as reported by the Star.
He added that the suspect had hidden the weapon under his bed before fleeing only to resurface later to report an "assault case".
