The man, identified as Kamau, had separated from his wife and allegedly ambushed her at her father’s house where he stabbed her severally leading to her death.

Witnesses say the man separated with his wife following a trail of family feuds which led to division of children.

Moses Macharia, a witness, said that the attack occurred so fast and that no help would have come in handy for the woman.

“The long period of separation did not give any one a clue that such a heinous act was meant to take place,” the witness said.

“We only came to know of the killing several hours after it had occurred and at the moment we cannot establish the cause of ambush from the man.”

While confirming the incident, area sub-chief Fred Gitonga said murder cases in the region were on the rise and urged families to adopt better methods of resolving family issues.

The bodies of the deceased are preserved at the Nyahururu hospital mortuary.
