Embu Senior Resident Magistrate Vincent Nyakundi found the man who works as a farmhand guilty after the prosecution side proved beyond doubt that he had indeed defiled the victims.

Witnesses told the court that the convict lured the boys aged between 9 and 12 years with a ride on his ox-drawn handcart.

In another instance, they testified, he bought them doughnuts.

He would then forcefully bundle them to the ground and commit the inhumane act when they reached a secluded forested area, reported the Daily Nation on Thursday.

One of the boys, according to the witness team led by state counsels Elizabeth Kibathi and Celestine Matere, was lured when he met the man while on his way to church, before being defiled by the convict.

The 40 year old man was handed 35 years in jail for each of the three crimes for contravening the Section 11(1) of the sexual offences act of 2016 and the sentences will run concurrently.

He committed the acts between May 20 and 22 in 2017.
