Ndithini village residents have lynched a man accusing him of killing a colleague.
Kennedy Mutuku, 38, is suspected to have killed his colleague on Wednesday night.
Francis Kisoi body was found lying a few meters from his employers gate.
Mutuku became the first suspect as the two had been seen together leaving a bar in Ndithini market after a heated argument.
Furious residents stormed the suspect’s house an hour later where they found Mutuku.
Residents who had been alerted and had gathered swarmed the home, drugging him outside and publicly beating him mercilessly as he was drunk and too weak to resist or explain the act he was being accused of. He was later burnt to death.
Confirming the incident, Masinga police OCPD, Joel Kiptum, said that the victim died after sustaining severe injuries from the beating and burns on Wednesday evening before the police arrived.
“Police officers from Ndithini police post arrived on the scene and found the body of the victim badly burnt,” said Kiptum.
Kiptum has warned members of public from taking laws on their own hands.
The police boss further confirmed that the bodies of the two have been transferred to Ndithini Mission mortuary.
Police have launched an investigation on the incidents surrounding the two killings.
