A man claiming to be son to the late Laikipia Senator GG Kariuki has moved to a Nakuru court to block burial of his late father scheduled for Friday citing lack of recognition in burial arrangements by members of the family.

Addressing media in Nakuru on Thursday afternoon, Charles  Maina who says the late GG Kariuki was his dad raised concerns on how the other members of the family decided to exclude him in all funeral arrangements.

He says this prompted him to move to court and seek court orders to bar any burial arrangements and the matter has been scheduled for Friday morning when the court shall make a ruling on the same.

While regretting that a requiem mass was being conducted on Thursday in his absentia, Maina who is also a business man says he has been trying to bring about negotiation with other family members but his efforts have been frustrated.

“I have been the son of the late GG Kariuki but up to now having lost my father I have been denied the right to participate in the committee. It is with sorrow that a requiem mass is being held today in my absence,” he said.

“He is my father and he has been very supportive and we have been having talks. I remember at one particular time I told him when his time comes I will be willing to take up his political line. So what I need is only recognition and nothing more;” said Maina.
