A man aged 60 was on Monday found dead on a stone at Mecheo Nyatieko Mosocho area of Kisii County.
The deceased identified only as Obwoge, had taken his cattle to graze outside his compound when he died.
His wife who declined to be named said her husband was not ill because he showed no signs of sickness.
“He didn’t complain of any pain when he left home to graze the cattle at the field few meters from home. A neighbor spotted him seated on a stone, approached him and greeted him but there was no response, and immediately he raised alarm to attract residents who arrived only to find him dead as the cattle were grazing,” said the wife.
Police officers from Nyakoe who arrived at the scene said the incident will be investigated.
“We will have to conduct investigations to determine the cause of his death. We are urging family members and villagers to cooperate with police to ease investigations,” said one of the officers who requested for anonymity.
The man’s body was moved to Kisii Level 6 hospital mortuary.
