Police in Mombasa have arrested a man who was allegedly found in possession of bhang worth thousands of shillings.
Confirming the arrest, Likoni OCPD Willy Simba said the suspect was arrested following a tip-off from members of the public.
Mr Simba said the suspect identified as Benjamin Kirimi Njeru, who is currently in police custody was nabbed at the screening area at the Likoni ferry channel.
The Likoni OCPD said that the suspect was intending to cross to the mainland side of Likoni, when he was arrested by the detectives.
According to Baraka FM, the suspect was found in possession of 322 rolls of bhang valued at Sh322,000.
“The suspect will be charged in court with the offence of being in possession of bhang once investigations are complete,” said Mr Simba.
The suspect is currently being held at Likoni Police Station.
