One man narrowly missed death on Wednesday, after he was dragged by a moving vehicle in in Mashauri, Kisii town.
The incident happened after the said man disagreed with a driver and a conductor operating a Public Service Vehicle.
The man, who is petrol station attendant, is said to have had an altercation with the two before the pair decided to take off while dragging him.
The altercation started after the attendant asked the driver of the said matatu to move his vehicle to allow others to fuel, and that is when the visibly agitated driver jumped in and started the matatu.
Within a fraction of a second, the driver drove off with the conductor grabbing the attendant, dragging him for close to 50 meters.
His efforts to try hop onto the moving matatu or even hang by the door were futile, as the matatu moved at a high speed.
The fracas attracted attention from bystanders and other pedestrians, who screamed and hurled insults at the driver and his conductor.
They then let him go, rolling several times and sustaining serious injuries in the process.
The matatu then sped off towards the Ogembo route, with the man taken to hospital for treatment.
Residents have urged the police to investigate the case and arrest the two men, with many questioning their motive.
