A 35-year-old man from Motagara location, Nyamira County requires Sh1.4 million to help him secure treatment of Sarcoma type of cancer in India. Two years ago, Geoffrey Moeche had a motorbike accident, where he lost one of his hands. According to Kenyatta National Hospital doctors, the treatment abroad will see his left arm amputated to save his life. “I had a minor accident two years ago on a motorbike and I got bruises on my left upper part of hand and taken to Nyamira District hospital where they treated the case as a fracture and bandaged me,” said Moeche. Moeche says that after bandaging the arm, he never got well as it continued to swell and this prompted him to seek more medical attention at Kenyatta National Hospital where upon scanning, he was diagnosed with the cancer. According to a letter from Kenyatta National hospital Moeche was to be operated and his hand amputated on April 16, 2015 but due to lack of funds it has seen him spend sleepless nights for fear of spread of the disease to the heart. He can’t raise the required amount of money due to the fact that he is not working anymore, as he used to work as a mason. “I was unable to raise the Sh 320,000 due to the condition in which I am and this has made it worse, am now required to raise Sh 1.4 million for my surgery in India. If I don’t get the money it means I have no option than wait for the will of God to happen because already it has spread," he said. He said that he has made efforts to meet the county executive to no avail. He now calls on the well-wishers and any kind-hearted people to assist and save his life.
