A man identified as Denis Onsombi on Sunday evening attacked his uncle with a machete before going into hiding.
Mr Onsombi, committed the crime at Miranga village, Kisii County.
Mr Stephen Tonda, the area Nyumba Kumi official confirmed the incident saying that already the police hadd launched a manhunt inorder to arrest the man.
"He returned from Nairobi last year December and he has been at logger heads with his uncle. He claims that his uncle is the reason his family has not been succeeding," he said.
According to him, neighbors intervened when the man called for help and on reaching the crime scene, Mr Onsombi had dissapeared.
The neighbors rushed the man to hospital before alerting him about the incident.
He said that the suspect has been given an ultimatum of one week to present himself to the police or face consequences.
Mr Tom Ragira an elder also said that they had agreed to solve the matter at home.
"If he avails himself we shall solve the matter with the family, if he fails we shall curse him," he said.
