Milimani Law Courts. Photo: Kenya Today.Man has been known to be the bread winner of the family for a long time and the notion still remains firm in people's minds. The high court has thus ruled that man is responsible for his family even if sometimes means of provision may seem unsuccessful. This is after a man was ordered by Justice Aggrey Muchelule to pay Sh70,000 per month for daughter's upkeep.Despite the fact that the man pleaded for a lighter verdict because he had no financial capacity to provide the said amount, Muchelule argued that nothing could be done to relief the sentence."The provision of the child education, medical care, and shelter is a statutory and constitutional responsibility of the appellant from which he cannot escape. If the provision is suspended by order of stay, it will mean the child does not go to school, and without both shelter and medical care," he said. The man's complaints fell on deaf ears as Muchelule urged him to offer child support.
