The suspect who claimed to be King’ori Mwangi, the assistant deputy Inspector General of Police, was arrested near the law courts while pretending to assist a litigant with a case.

The suspect was found with seven national Identity Cards bearing different names and over 10 SIM cards from different mobile phone companies.

According to the officer in charge of the Flying Squad unit in Naivasha Singi Nzioka, the suspect had approached a woman who had a case at the Naivasha law courts with the promise that he would help her end the case but at a fee.

The senior officer said the woman got suspicious and informed police who moved in and arrested the suspect as he waited for his fee.

“The suspect claimed to be the deputy inspector general of police but we have arrested him and he shall be arraigned in court facing various charges,” Singi said.
