Kenya power officials and police have arrested a man in Nyamira town who tried to dupe a trader.
The suspect was arrested on with Kenya power gadgets and documents he uses to hoodwink people that he is the company's official.
A trader, Justus Rasugu who the suspect tried to con said the suspect asked for Sh100,000 saying he will have his business premise connected with electricity.
"I doubted the huge amount the suspect demanded from me to connect my business premise with electricity. I tried to persuaded him to drop the money but he refused. I decided to report the matter to police after I realized the suspect was a conman. Police responded and apprehended the man", said Rasugu.
Rasugu added that locals should be on high alert not to be conned by pretenders.
"I call on fellow residents not to fall into traps which can lead them to lose their money to impostors", he said.
