A middle-aged-man was on Thursday arrested in Changosi Village in Mukusu Location, Masinga sub-county after he allegedly raped a 3-year-old girl.
Confirming the incident, Mukusu Location area Chief Shadrack Maingi stated that the family of the young girl reported the matter to him and he took the initiative together with Community Policing officers to arrest the suspect.
“I was called by the mother of the child who told me the child was in a bad condition after the alleged defilement by the suspect and they had confirmed that the suspect had been seen walking out of the homestead. I therefore called the Community Policing officers who arrested the culprit,” said Chief Maingi.
According to Chief Maingi, the young girl was taken to Masinga Hospital for first aid and check-up and the doctors’ report confirmed that the girl had been defiled.
The suspected rapist was Thursday evening taken to Masinga Dam Police Post where he is being held. He is expected to be arraigned in Kathimani Law Court on Friday with charges of defilement of a minor.
Chief Maingi warned the area residents against practicing such acts of inhuman to young and innocent children.
